Luis A. Ortiz (a.k.a. "YoYo"), of Scotrun, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the age of 59. Born on May 1, 1966, Luis was a dedicated partner, son, friend and cherished leader to many.
Luis was a respected employee of Mt. Airy Casino Resort, where he served as the Housekeeping Supervisor since 2007. His dedication, professionalism, and warm nature earned him the admiration and love of his colleagues.
Outside of his professional life, Luis's greatest passion was the Ruff Ryders motorcycle club. He was instrumental in establishing and serving as the President of the Poconos Chapter. Through the club, he gave invaluable guidance, strength, and unwavering friendship to members near and far, truly embodying the spirit of leadership.
In his spare time, Luis enjoyed staying fit by working out and spending quality time with his loyal dog, X. His strong presence, kind heart, and his favorite phrase, "We Outside" will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Luis is survived by his loving mother, Emilia Caban Rosado of the Bronx, NY; his devoted domestic partner, Barbara Damiani, and her three daughters, Johnna Kresge, Kristin Renaldo, and Nicole Minervini. He is also survived by his niece, Isamar Rodriguez of Connecticut, his two uncles, Anibal Rosado of the Bronx, NY and Pablo Rosado of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and his nephew, Waldimar Rodriguez of Puerto Rico.
A memorial service and celebration of Luis's life will be held on Sunday, December 14th from 1:00 to 4:00PM at The Chateau Resort and Conference Center, 475 Camelback Road, Tannersville, PA 18372.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the William H. Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg.
