Grace Suffices

Grace Suffices (née Ida Dell-Ross, later Ida Dellavalle) was born on December 8, 1945, in

Staten Island, New York, to parents Rheinhold and Mary Dell-Ross. She passed peacefully,

surrounded by the love and care of her family, on February 4, 2026, at Stroudsburg Post Acute

(SPA) Rehabilitation in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania.

Grace was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Melissa; her sister, Ruth Ann Gouse; and

other beloved family members. She is survived by her children James John Jr., Luke Matthew

(wife Michelle), Fawn Monique, and Paul Stephan (wife Alyson) Dellavalle. She is also survived

by her sisters Rebecca Caravaglio, Carolynn Rossamando, and Irma Dell-Ross, along with

many nieces and nephews, and was a loving grandmother to William, Luke, Sebastian, Devin,

Mary, John, and Chris.

A devout born-again Christian, Grace found great joy in singing in church choirs throughout her

community. She loved creating beautiful gardens and cooking foods from around the world. She

was known for opening her home with warmth and generosity, offering food, comfort, and care

not only to her family but to her children's friends and community whenever it was needed.

She was formerly married to James John Dellavalle Sr. of Staten Island, New York. Grace

wholeheartedly supported her children in their dreams from athletics to creative pursuits and

modeled the spirit of entrepreneurship through her own small business endeavors. She was

also an active supporter of Pocono Christian School and East Stroudsburg Christian Academy.

In keeping with her generous spirit and according to her wishes, Grace was a full-body donor

through the Human Gift Registry. Her remains will serve the advancement of medical study at

Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was supported during

her end-of-life journey by her devoted children, and the wonderful nursing staff of SPA and

hospice team of St. Luke's.

There will be no services at this time; however, the family intend to host a celebration of life in

the near future.

Her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Arrangements are under the direction of the William H. Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg.
