Gommert James Ackerman Jr. "Jimi" age 57 of Sciota, PA passed away suddenly on Friday, February 13, 2026

at St. Luke's Hospital in Stroudsburg, PA .

Jimi was born in Pompton Plains, NJ on March 9, 1968, son of Patricia Sole of East Stroudsburg, PA and the late Gommert James Ackerman Sr.

He was an arborist at Nordmarks Tree Service in Sciota, PA for many years.

Jimi served our country with dedication and courage in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.

He loved working with his hands creating art pieces out of wood for his family and friends. In his leisure time Jimi loved to take to the open road with his son Jimmi on their Harley's.

We have been blessed with the presence of Jimi in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his son: Gommert J. Ackerman "Jimmie" and his fiancée Jami Farrell of Easton, PA, daughter: Kayleigh Valentine of Las Vegas, NV, his mother: Patricia Sole and her companion Don Watson of East Stroudsburg, PA, stepmother Vena Ackerman of Saylorsburg, PA, sister: Dawn Marie King and companion Nick of Toms River, NJ, Aunts: Lorrie Sole of Northville, MI, and Linda Sole of Forked River, NJ and many cousins.

He will also be missed by his furry four-legged friend Rosa.

A Celebration of Jimi's life will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11 am until 1 pm with sharing of memories by family and friends,

Interment is private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made In Loving Memory of Gommert J. Ackerman to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
