Obituary published on Legacy.com by William H. Kresge Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 31, 2025.
Norma Ruth Leap, 97, of
Sciota, PA, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.
She was the loving wife of the late Elmer L. Leap Sr. They enjoyed 53 wonderful years of marriage together before his passing in 1998.
Born on May 24, 1928, in
Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Willet and the late Helen (Comp) Willet.
Norma devoted most of her life caring for others, including raising seven children and working as a caregiver for the sick and elderly. She was very active at the community center of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In Norma's later years she enjoyed bird watching from her window, the challenge of completing word searches and playing and teaching the game of dominos with family and friends.
Norma lived a life marked by quiet devotion and a heart inclined toward service. She waited with steadfast hope for the Lord's promised return, often reflecting the longing of the hymn, "Hold Fast Til I Come". Resting in the assurance of His abiding presence, she trusted deeply in the promise of "God Will Take Care of You". Grounded in the Word and in hymns that cheered the heart, she would often, without warning, lift her voice in song a simple testimony of trust, hope and joy.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Doris Masten and her husband Robert Jr. of
Stroudsburg, PA, Carolyn Bright and her husband Joseph of
Odenton, MD, Helen Stephens and her husband Charles of Old Fort, TN; her sons, Wayne Leap and his wife Marilyn of
Fieldale, VA, Earl Leap and his wife Laurie of
Pamplin, VA; a daughter-in-law, Sherri Leap; her nineteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren (5 generations 7 times), many nieces and nephews, and her beloved church family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three sons, Glenn Leap, Donald Leap Sr., Elmer Leap Jr.; a daughter, Ruthie Leap; two sisters, Nola Collins, Evelyn Fralick; three brothers, Eugene Willet, Harvey Willet, Wayne Willet; and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Leap.
