Luis Rodriguez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boren-Conner Funeral Home - Bullard on Dec. 22, 2025.
Luis Rodriguez, 65, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 19, 2025, in Whitehouse, Texas. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, to begin at 10:00am. Pastor Dave Newsom will officiate the service.

Born on September 8, 1960, in Fentress, Texas, Luis was the son of Benny Rodriguez and the late Zita Velasquez. While his life began with the typical joys of childhood, a severe case of meningitis at a young age resulted in lifelong health challenges. For the decades that followed, Luis carried his burdens with a quiet, resilient spirit that touched the hearts of many. Luis recently celebrated a milestone 65th birthday this past September. For the last six years, he was a resident of Oakbrook Nursing Home, where he was known and cared for with dignity. Our family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to his nurses and caregivers. They loved Luis dearly, and knowing they all gave him compassionate care was a true blessing to us all.

Luis is survived by his father, Benny Rodriguez; his brothers, Juan Rodriguez (Kathleen) and David Rodriguez (Tina) and his sisters, Rosita Hernandez, Rebecca Contreras (Ricky), Cassandra Perales (J.P.), and Enedina Guzman (Jose). Luis was also loved and will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and lots of cousins.

He is now reunited in eternal rest with his beloved mother, Zita Velasquez, and his brother, Domingo Rodriguez.

After 65 years of navigating a world he could not see and a body that limited his movement, Luis is finally free. We take comfort in knowing he can now see the faces of those who went before him and walk without pain in the light of God.

The interment of his cremated remains will be held privately at Bascom Cemetery In Tyler, Texas.
