Luis R. Rodriguez Jr.

Luis Rafael Charriez Rodriguez of Vineland went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 23,2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born May 16, 1955, in Yabucoa P.R. He graduated from Puerto Rico Police Academy in 1976, where he served in the municipality of Cupey, P.R for 5 years as an officer and then transferred to Humacao P.R. where he served for 15 years as part of the SWAT team.

His passion for baseball, especially the NY Mets and the Dulces Azucareros of Yabucoa P.R was only paired with his love of coaching and managing baseball.

Luis is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ana Torres, his life companion, best friend and eternal love; his children, Luis Rafael Charriez (Picolo) and his wife Iris, Jose Rafael Charriez (Pickie), Shabreya Jones, Destiny Jones and Luis Andres Charriez; grandchildren, Luis Jose Charriez (LJ), Angelica Charriez, Nathan M. Charriez, Keyshla Charriez, Deyanira Charriez, Dasani Charriez, Jayden Jones and Naomi Yurdock; great grandchildren, Aspen Cantoni-Charriez and Gianni Charriez. They were his pride, strength and greatest joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Charriez and Facunda Rodriguez.

Luis will forever be remembered by his sisters, Carmen and Zaida Charriez, Sonia Castro and many nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received from 10:00am until 11:00am followed by a service from 11:00am until 12:00pm on Thursday January 29, 2026 at DeMarco – Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery, 550 N. Valley Ave. Vineland, NJ.
