Luis Humberto Sanchez Sr.

June 29, 1948 – April 28, 2025

With profound sadness and overflowing love, we announce the passing of Luis Humberto Sanchez Sr., who left this world peacefully on April 28, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on June 29, 1948, in La Victoria, Coahuila, Mexico, Luis lived a life rooted in love, hard work, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Luis was the cherished husband of Maria De’ Jesus, a partnership built on deep love, loyalty, and faith. He was the loving son of the late Rosa M. Rico and Jesus Sanchez, and brother to the late Chuya Maria Gomez, Martin Sanchez, Antonio Sanchez, and Inez Sanchez. He is survived by his sisters Elvia Romero, Romelia Ruiz, and Lorenza Ramirez, who will continue to carry forward the bond they shared.

He leaves behind a legacy through his children: Luis Humberto Jr., Vanessa Sanchez, and

Jorge Luis Sanchez. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Lesly, Alex, Victoria, Victor,

Cecilia, Jorge Jr., Benjamin, and Ellianna—and his great-grandchildren: Zamari, Kaiden, Damien, Victor Jr., X’taly, and Eliam. Luis was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Genoveva and Agustin Cervantes, his niece Marina Ramirez, and nephew Manuel Ruiz.

To those who knew him, Luis was more than just a father, grandfather, brother, or friend—he was the heart of his family. A hardworking man with an iron-strong work ethic, he spent over 50 years as a Star Tool and Sanchez Dump Trucking truck driver. Even in retirement, he continued fixing cars at his shop on the ranch, mowing the lawn, cooking out, and joyfully watering the grass.

Luis began each day with his favorite traditions—taking his grandkids to school, sipping Coke with an egg, cafesito or a hot anise tea, and watching Caso Cerrado on Telemundo. He was a jokester with a contagious laugh, always finding joy in the little things. He loved singing and playing his guitar, especially singing Las Mañanitas to celebrate birthdays. He had special nicknames for his grandchildren—calling them “los venenosos,” “chicken pollo gaina,” or “los tremendos.”

He never missed a family event—big or small—and always made sure his loved ones felt seen, valued, and cherished. Whether it was a daily phone call, a spontaneous trip, or a simple act of service, Luis lived to give. His greatest pride was the family he built and the love that bound them together.

He was a man of faith, attending Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe and often reminding us, “My good Lord will take care of everything.” His generous spirit, genuine smile, and kind words made everyone feel like they mattered.

In his final moments, Luis returned home, where he was lovingly embraced by his entire family.

He left this world in peace, knowing he was surrounded by all those he loved most.

Luis Humberto Sanchez Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love, humility, laughter, and unwavering family values. His memory will live on, in the stories we tell, the music we sing, and the way we care for one another.
