Steven was a man of many trades, specializing in paint and body work. His skill and dedication to his craft were well known, but it was his big heart that defined him most. He treasured his family and delighted in spending time with them, especially outdoors. Steven had a keen sense of humor, always ready with a joke to bring laughter to those around him. He was very sociable and loved sharing moments with friends and family over music and bbq.
Throughout his life, Steven was a loyal supporter of the San Francisco 49ers, which often brought playful banter as his wife, Lisa Sanchez, was a devout Dallas Cowboys fan. Their playful rivalry only added to the joy of their 39 years together.
Steven proudly served in the National Guard for a period, reflecting his commitment to his country.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Sanchez; his cherished children, Lorraine, Anabel, Steven Jr. and his wife Alex; and his beloved grandchildren, Mariah, Amaris, Xaiden, and Moses Rey. Steven shared a special bond with his siblings, Chata Avila and her husband Arturo, Joey Valdez and his wife Gracie, Suzy Valdez, Bobby Weempe and his wife Elizabeth, Paul Albert, and Amelia Soriano and her husband Gerald. He is also remembered by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Martina Zavala, Eva Sosa, Marie Rodriguez, Jesse Torres, and his wife Rebecca.
Steven is preceded in death by his mother, Lucia Gomez; his son, Moses Sanchez; his grandmother, Angelita Sanchez; mother-in-law, Antonia Torres as well as a few aunts and uncles.
