Our beloved father Salvador Sanchez Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in his home on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the age of 87.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Bertha Sanchez and their children Iris (Eugene) Bohan, Frank (Ruben) Sanchez, Gabriel (Lisa) Sanchez, Caroline (Pascual) Rodriguez, Maria (Kyle) Sanchez and grandchildren: Beto Mendez, Natalia Mendez, Gabrielle Bohan, Kaitlynn Bohan, Michael Bohan, Pascual Rodriguez Jr., Andrew Rodriguez, Monica Rodriguez, Emilie Rodriguez, Marco Sanchez and great grandchildren Angelina Sanchez and Luca Rodriguez . He is also survived by his siblings: Juan Sanchez, Maria Salas, Poly Fernandez and Elena Sanchez. Salvador was preceded in death by his son Sal Sanchez, Jr. and his parents Epifanio Sanchez and Maria del Refugio Sanchez.

Salvador spent his early years unionizing migrant laborers that would travel from Texas to Wisconsin to work on farms. He dedicated his life to the better lives of farm workers and the unrepresented in the Milwaukee community. He was an integral part of UMOS (United Migrant Opportunity Service) and served as it's Executive Director from 1970 to 1974. Salvador was also a devout Catholic and spent many years involved in the crucio movement.

Salvador was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 starting at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St John Paul II Parish, St Helen Church Location 3329 S 10th St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin followed by Mass at 11:00 AM.
