Luisa Alicia Vasquez, 88, entered into eternal rest on May 14, 2024 in El Paso, TX. Luisa is preceded in death by her parents, Nicanor Vasquez and Rita Paniagua. Brother, Jose Nicasio; sisters, Evangelina Castañeda, Katalin Vasquez and Maria Dominga Paz. Luisa is survived by her beloved brother, Antonio Vasquez and sister, Candida Vasquez. Luisa was very loved and will always be missed.
Tia Alice was a gift to many. Although she never had children of her own she was a mother to many. She helped her sister raise Christina (Bustamante) Guffey as her own. The greatest secret about Tia was she loved kids. You could always count on her if you scraped your knee, got stung by a bee or needed a bite to eat. She was ready to give you a burrito of the best huevo con chorizo, a sandwich, some chips, Cracker Jacks, or a Little Debbie Snack Cake with a Coke. She made holidays special for many years, cooking and making sure there was enough for everyone. She worked at Farrah Factory for over 27 years making friends and memories. She told stories of how good she would work turning over the jean pocket; something many will remember as she gestured and said “shooku”. May she rest in peace as she takes her walk to heaven through beautiful rose garden like the one she shared with the community.
