Luisa Zendejas passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on December 15, 1961, in Tehachapi Ca. She spent her life in Tehachapi going to school, working, raising a family, and enjoying retirement.
As an adult she worked many jobs, but her last one was for TUSD in the main kitchen. She loved making food, talking with the kids and seeing them grow up. Her favorite years working there was when her grandson went to the school her kitchen was at. She loved showing him off to the ladies she worked with and giving him his own special little treat from her.
Her family and friends will forever remember her as a woman of kindness, humor, and full of love. She was a free spirit who loved the simple things. Her grandchildren will always see her as grandma Weezee, tending to her garden, making tortillas, and planning trips to Las Vegas.
She was survived by her parents Manuel and Francis Zendejas. Brothers Manuel (Michelle) Zendejas, Fernando (Naylene) Zendejas, and Ignacio Zendejas. Sister Ofelia (Manuel) Escoto. Children Kenny Hignite (Deidra Crowley), Bruce Hignite, and Boski Hignite. Grandchildren Justin Hignite, Clairese Hignite, James Hignite, Priscilla Hignite, Alana Hignite, Clyde Hignite, Ensley Hignite, and Demitri Hignite. Lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in her death by her brother Ramon Zendejas and grandson Baby Boski Hignite.
She will forever be in our hearts and missed.
A celebration of life will be held on March 29th, 2025.
