Luke Parry, of Hollisterville, passed away at home, of natural causes, on Jan. 30, 2023. Luke died suddenly - experiencing no pain, fear or regret. Luke was 57 years old.
Luke grew up in Hollisterville, and had returned to live in his cherished childhood home, after having spent many years living in Bangor, Scotrun and Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. Luke lived every day to the fullest.
Luke leaves behind his beloved son, Noah; and broken-hearted wife, Morag (Morrie). Luke was the youngest child of the late Bill and Elsie Parry, of Hollisterville. Surviving Luke are a sister, Kitty (Bill) Ferguson; and four brothers, Randy (Maureen) Parry, Lynn (Lisa) Parry, Dale (Melinda) Parry and Mark (Charlotte) Parry. Another brother, Tom Parry, predeceased Luke. Luke was an uncle to Michelle, Bryan, Josh and Jake Parry, as well as to Tim, Will, Jeremy and Amy Ferguson, and also Jamie Newell. Luke was a stepuncle to Liam Bell, Sarah Korisher and Rachel Rubino. Luke had many cousins, great-nieces and nephews. Luke was loved dearly by his in-laws, Bill, Rita, Michael and Peter (Marka) Newell.
Luke worked for many years (25+) as a tree-trimmer, primarily in New Jersey, specializing in residential, and later power line clearance work. During his tree-trimming years Luke formed many lifelong friendships. Luke most recently worked at Home Depot (Honesdale) in the garden department. Luke enjoyed the work, and the camaraderie of his colleagues and friends at the store. Luke enjoyed volunteering: Bangor Public Library (Bangor), Cub Scout Pack 102 (Bangor), Boy Scout Troop 36 (Roseto). Recently, Luke was a volunteer at the Wayne County Food Pantry Program (Honesdale). Luke was kind, wise, curious, happy, funny, creative and always busy. Luke was a gardener, artist, musician, photographer, naturalist, birder, citizen scientist, inventor and truly a beautiful person. Luke was loved and respected by many; his kindness survives him.
