Luke Jacob Terrell

On November 8, 2025, our world became a little bit dimmer as we lost a truly wonderful man. Luke “Bubba Luke” Terrell was the epitome of an amazing husband, an incredible father, and a devoted son, brother, and uncle.

Growing up in Simmesport, Luke could often be found hunting, fishing, or spending time with his brothers on any given day.

When he married his high school sweetheart, Ashleigh, and they had two amazing kids, Saylor and Everleigh, his greatest treasures and his whole world, he continued to share his love for hunting and fishing with them.

When he wasn’t spending time with his family, you could find him in front of the stove cooking anything from pastalaya to rice and gravy, one of his favorite things to do. And boy, was it good, because in the true words of the chef himself, “Bubba Luke don’t cook anything nasty.”

To know him was to not only love him, but to feel genuine joy, because if he was around, you couldn’t help but smile at his sweet, goofy nature.

Luke found Christ and was baptized at Latanache Baptist Church, where he continued to share his love of Jesus with his family every Sunday.

As we mourn this incredible loss, let’s choose to live a little more like Bubba Luke and spread a whole lot of Jesus, joy, and pastalaya everywhere we go.

Funeral service for Luke Jacob Terrell of Moreauville will take place at the Latanache Baptist Church on Saturday, November 15th, 2025 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Davey Kelone officiating. Burial will take place at the Latanache Baptist Church Cemetery.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ashleigh Terrell; children, Saylor Luke Terrell and Everleigh Terrell; parents, Jimmy, Jr. & Reba Jean Terrell; brothers, Anthony Terrell (Melissa), Preston Terrell, and Cory Terrell (Brianna). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: A.J., Shyah, Lakoda, Mya, Zeathen, C.J., Keenan, Emma, Travis, Kelsey (Daniel), Hailey (Nate), Maverick, Kowen, Wesson, Ellie, and Juniper.

Visitation will begin on Friday, November 14th, 2025 at the Latanache Baptist Church from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and will resume on Saturday at 9:00am.
