Lula Mae Arcemont

Lula Mae “Lu” Arcemont was born and raised in Aransas Pass, Texas on September 12, 1936, and passed away on May 08, 2024, in Yantis, Texas. She was a 1955 Aransas Pass High School graduate, was active in the collection of the Aransas Pass high school Alumni Association history books that are kept in the public library and collected the history on different areas of the city. She obtained the mayor’s pictures at city hall, the chief of police and fire chief’s pictures at the police department and fire department, the sheriff’s pictures at the sheriff’s department in Sinton and the Chamber of Commerce Presidents pictures at the Chamber of Commerce building in Aransas Pass and pictures of the Overbid Trustee’s and the presiding Judge at the Public Library in Aransas Pass. She also compiled many historical marker dedication books for the San Patricio County Historical Commission that are on display at the Beckland Museum in Taft, Texas and a book on the history of the Tri County Crime Stoppers in Aransas Pass. She also made history books on the Aransas Pass Panther football teams and basketball teams.

She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #911 in Schertz, Texas, daughter of the Nile Nekodah Temple No. 44 and Ladies Oriental Shine of North America, Inc. Altrui Court #89 and Social Order of The Beauceant in San Antonio, Texas. She is a former member of the San Patricio County Historical Commission and served on the Aransas Pass Board of Adjustments. She is a charter member of the Memorial Commission and has served as secretary and chairperson on this board in Aransas Pass since it was established.

Lu along with her Husband received the Citizen of the year award from the chamber of commerce in 2003 and the woman’s club in 2004. She and her husband were also nominees of the Jefferson Award in 2004 and were inducted into the Aransas Pass Independent School District Hall of Fame that same year.

 She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Arcemont, Sr.; mother, Clara Lunday; father, William W. Wallace; stepfather, W.V. “Vic” Lunday; daughter, Jeri D. Foster; brother, J.C. Reeves; brother, Josh D. Wallce; sister, Undean Avis; stepbrother, Charles C. Lunday; stepsister, Lawanda Reynolds; and stepson, Ralph Arcemont Jr.

She is survived by her nephew, William Wallace and wife Denise and family of Yantis, Texas; stepsons, Ronald Arcemont and Curtis Cryer; and stepdaughter, Carolyn Adams.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Reverend Price and wife Marilyn for their kindness and prayers every Sunday and Wednesday. She always anticipated their phone calls.
