Mrs. Lula Faye Bailey

Mrs. Lula Faye Bailey, 64, of Newburgh, IN passed away on December 23, 2021 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on August 17, 1957 in Evansville, IN to Callie Summers Wells and the late Eugene Summers. Faye was a graduate of North High School. She married Rev. Dr. Matory J. Bailey on March 18, 1995, and they had 3 children. She worked as a Daycare Assistant for the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation. Faye enjoyed working with children, serving as First Lady of Little Valley Missionary Baptist Church, and participating in the Evansville Ministers' Wives Council. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Rev. Matory J. Bailey of Newburgh, IN; mother Callie Summers Wells of Springfield, TN; sons Jason (Melissa) Bailey of Indianapolis, IN and Calvin Vinson of Newburgh, IN; daughter Janice Vinson Esannason of Avon, IN; brother Gerald (Susie) Summers of Evansville, IN; sisters Janice Summers-Dickey of Springfield, TN and Brenda Duffey of Russellville, KY; grandchildren Keira, Caleb, Kaia, and Corbin Bailey; niece Kenya Summers of Chester, Virginia, and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Summers.
Visitation will be held on Friday December 31, 2021 at Memorial Baptist Church, 605 Canal St. Evansville, IN, from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM with Homegoing services immediately following at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
