Lula Mae Sheriff, age 100 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Gordon Health & Rehabilitation.
Lula Mae was born on January 24, 1924 in Hill City, GA, the daughter of the late Henry Silver and Lenora Nance Silver. In addition to her parents, Lula Mae was also preceded in death by: her husband, Herman Sheriff; first husband, Edward Holmes; two sons, Dean Sheriff and Johnny Lee Sheriff; two daughters, Linda Faye Nix and Joan Brown; and sister, Myrtle Womack. She was a member of South Calhoun Baptist Church. Lula Mae loved gardening.
Lula Mae is survived by: two sons, Gary (Lisa Kay) Sheriff of Calhoun and Larry (Ann) Sheriff of Calhoun; two daughters, Rita (Robert) Cooper of Ringgold and Louise (Wayne) Brown of Sugar Valley; one sister, Pearl Robinson of Rome; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Pace officiating. Burial will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Michael Brown, Michael Brown, Jr., Hunter Brown, Robert Cooper, and Brandon Cooper. Stanley Simpson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
