On December 15, 2023 Lula Marlean Toler, loving wife, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at her home in Mableton, GA. "Aunt Marlean" as she was known to those who loved her, was born on November 19, 1935 in Cartersville, GA. She was the sixth of ten children born to Grady & Lula Murphy Bearden. After graduating from West Fulton High School in Atlanta, Marlean married the love of her life, A.H. "Bill" Toler and they enjoyed 64 years together. She went to work for Avon in their Human Resources Department & retired after 25 years of service. Following a short break she assumed a second career with Zep Manufacturing as an Insurance Coordinator before officially retiring.
Before her (and Bill's) illness Marlean was an active member of Vinings Baptist Church, Lockheed Retirement Group, and West Fulton Class of ‘53 Luncheon Club. She served on various committees and was always willing to help others in any way. Her greatest love came from being with and helping her family. Marlean recently celebrated her 88th birthday surrounded by her sister, nieces, in-laws and great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, parents and eight of her nine siblings. Marlean is survived by sister Martha Bearden Holcomb (Robert), sister-in-law Betty Bearden, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Smyrna, Georgia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
