Luther Wayne Fain, age 80, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at North Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation, surrounded by family and those who cared for him in his final days.
Born on April 2, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, Luther was the son of Lida Luther Fain and Norma Louise Curry. A graduate of Mesquite High School and Cooke County College, he grew up with a strong sense of diligence and work ethic that would shape his life and career. For over 30 years, Luther worked as a skilled metal fabricator, known for his ability to work with his hands and his unwavering dedication to getting the job done right.
Luther was a man of few words but deep strength. A devoted Christian, he found joy in the simple things: solving word search puzzles, watching classic westerns, and creating or fixing just about anything with his hands. His steady presence and hardworking nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother Lonny Fain and wife Janet Fain of Avery, Tx; his son John Jones of Gainesville, Tx; son Jason Fain and wife Jeanne Fain of Fort Worth, Tx; grandchildren Krista Lopez and husband Brian Lopez of Newport News, VA, Russell Townsley and wife Erin Townsley of Thackerville, Ok, Kathy Jones of Ardmore, Ok, Kyle Townsley and partner Dale Hale of Thackerville, Ok, Kevin Jones and wife Angie Jones of Sherman, Tx; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
Luther was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patsy Fain, daughter Bonnie Underwood and her husband Les Underwood, brother Jerry Smith, brother Douglas Gunn, sister Elaine Kelsoe.
A funeral service to honor Luther’s life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man whose legacy is built on perseverance, hard work, and a drive to help others.
Luther Wayne Fain will be deeply missed, remembered always for his resilience, his craftsmanship, his outgoing nature and willingness to always help others in need.
