Luther Jackson, age 76, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Lake Bridge Nursing Home, Johnson City, TN. He was born in Red Bird, KY, on July 2, 1949, to the late Garrett and Margie Taylor Jackson.
Lance Corporal Luther Jackson was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. His military career included two tours of duty in Vietnam where he earned several commendations and medals, including three Purple Hearts, for his bravery and leadership and achieved the prestigious role as a Scout Sniper.
In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by his brothers, Garrett Jackson, Hershel Jackson, and Ernest Jackson and sister, Shirley Underwood.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Angela Jackson; children, Teresa Jackson, Tina Jackson, April (Tony) Little, Kirk Madison, Wendy (Tim) Prater, and Tracy Sharp; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Jackson, Robert Jackson, and Jerry Jackson; and sister, Mary Hurst; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family of Luther Jackson will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. A funeral service with full military honors provided by the Campbell County Tennessee Honor Guard and presided by Reverend Mike Padgett will immediately follow.
Interment for Luther Jackson will be private.
