Luther Fredric Magee, age 79, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Indigo Carolina Forest. Born on December 4, 1945, in New Boston, he was the youngest son of the late Lillian (Ferguson) and Morris Magee.
Lou was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War where he held the rank of Second Lieutenant. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and worked as a Computer Sales Manager. Luther “Butch” lived a large portion of his life in New York City with his loving wife June. They enjoyed traveling, entertaining, cooking, and spending time in their gardens. Although Lou and June had no children, they adored their nieces and nephews and treated them as their own children.
He is survived by his wife June, brother Jerry, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Elkins and Patricia Adkins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Memorial Burial Park with his nephew Kevin Elkins officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.
A procession will form at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
