Luz Stella Hernandez Dellinger passed away peacefully on October 30,2025 at her house with her mother, husband, and daughter holding her hand. Stella was born July 21, 1971, in Cali, Colombia, South America and was the eldest daughter of two brothers and two sisters. Always a hard worker, she put herself through college earning an associate degree in computer science. Stella worked several jobs and was a technical support assistant when she met her husband. She married David in Cali, Colombia on May 19, 2001, and had a daughter, Nicole in 2004. Stella was a courageous fighter against cancer for 15 years until her death at 54 years. She was a hard worker, always faced any problem with positive attitude, enjoyed playing basketball, and spending time with her family. Stella would often talk about her family adventures as a teenager in the countryside swimming in the rivers of her homeland. She loved all dogs and cats and had two aquariums full of fishes and plants throughout the house. She loved science fiction, traveling, exploring, music, the mountains, taking walks, holding hands, and enjoying the simple things in life. Stella was a caring wife, protective loving mother, a thankful daughter, a supportive sister, a strong faith devoted Catholic, and the best friend to many people. She made an everlasting impression on so many people with her smile, beauty, kindness, intelligence, and positive attitude. Her name, Luz Stella, translates to English as "star light". Now as an angel in heaven, she looks down on all of us smiling brightly. She will always be remembered and deeply missed.
Surviving is her husband, David Dellinger; daughter Nicole Dellinger; Mother Esther Hernandez; brothers Louise and Ricardo and sisters Liliana and Maritza Hernandez. Her father, Inocencio Hernandez, proceeded her in death.
The visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Thursday, November 6, 2025 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 7, 2025 with Fr. Mason Wiggins officiating.
