Lydia M. Young

Lydia Miana (Hollis) Young, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at her home in Milton, Florida.

Lydia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and strength touched all who knew her. An immigrant from the Philippines, she carried her heritage with pride and built a life centered on love, resilience, and family. She had a special place in her heart for animals and showed compassion to every living thing she encountered.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Young; her daughter, Ada Castellano, and son-in-law, Graham Castellano; and her cherished grandchildren, Alexander, Hazel, and Henry Castellano.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Larry Hollis, and her beloved son, Anthony ("Tony") Hollis.

A celebration of Lydia's life will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026. The procession will begin at 1:30 PM at Olive Baptist Church – Warrington Campus and will proceed to Barrancas National Cemetery for a 2:00 PM service, where she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Larry. A potluck celebration of her life will follow at 5:00 PM at the Fil-Am Community Center in Milton, Florida.

Lydia will be remembered for her generous spirit, her deep love for family, and the warmth she brought into every room.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or Mercy Ships.
