Lyle E. Duke
Age 95. Died peacefully on November 29, 2024. Lyle is the beloved husband of both the late Della and JoAnne; beloved father of Gregg (Lori) Duke and the late Paul (Sue) Duke; cherished grandfather of Jessica (Kyle) Jeffery, Wesley (Bridget) Duke and Megan (Luke) Biebuyck. Mr. Duke is also survived by his great-grandchildren Mason, Kash, Jaxson, Sutton, Easton, Jordan, Layne and Cameron. Sadly, Lyle is preceded in death by his brother Robert.
Mr. Duke was a longtime employee of the City of Detroit Water Department proudly serving as a civil engineer.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Highland Park Baptist Church (28600 Lahser Rd., Southfield)
Interment will follow privately at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi.
Lyle was first and foremost a man of FAITH. Jesus was Lord of his life, and his character exemplified Him. He was a loving, devoted and loyal husband, father and grandfather. Family meant the world to him. Especially his grandkids, who brought him great joy.
He was extremely tenderhearted, generous, hardworking and kind. He was a very quiet guy with a quirky sense of humor. All who know Lyle will certainly miss him. But there is great consolation in knowing that he has finally arrived in his true home, in the arms of our Savior.
