Lyle Stepp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home & Crematory on Aug. 3, 2024.
Lyle L. Stepp of Grayslake, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024. Born one of 11 children to parents Joseph and Lennah Stepp. Lyle spent his childhood in Miami, Oklahoma. After serving in the Army, where he was stationed at Fort Sheridan, Lyle met and married the love of his life, Isabella (McLean) Stepp, with whom he shared the last 64 years.
Lyle and Isabella purchased the Plaza Motel in 1987. They were proud and diligent operators of the Motel for 35 years until they sold it and retired in 2022. Visitors could expect warm hospitality and exceptional care from Lyle and Belle, many of whom stayed in touch after their stay.
Lyle found joy in all aspects of life, and he was passionate about golfing, fishing, and family. Lyle was an avid golfer, who enjoyed being on the course with his close friends. Lyle's greatest passion though, was spending time with his family. Lyle was a loving and devoted husband, a dedicated and proud father, as well as a wonderful and kind grandfather.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Isabella Stepp (Mclean), his two brothers, Melvin Stepp and Phillip (Sue) Stepp, his three children, Laurie (Greg Lipske) Stepp, Lisa (Andrew) Orsini, and Rob (Stephanie) Stepp, his five grandchildren, Stephanie (Todd) Mcleod, Andrew (Claire) Orsini, Robert (Alyssa) Stepp, Danielle Orsini and Lindsey (Collin Mallindine) Stepp, and his two great grandchildren, Cecilia Orsini and William Mcleod.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9th, 2024, from 9:00am to 10:00am at Christ Our Hope Parish, 770 Deerfield Rd. Highland Park, IL. 60035, followed by a funeral mass.
