Lynd "Lenny" Richard Thomas, 69, of Severn, passed away at his home on March 4, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Lenny was a dedicated educator who profoundly impacted on the lives of his students throughout his 30-year career as a physical education teacher at Glen Burnie High School.

Lenny earned his bachelor’s degree from Towson State University and went on to contribute to the school community as a coach for basketball, baseball and football. He shared his passion for sports not only in the classroom but also by fostering team spirit through his watch parties for the Baltimore teams. His love for baseball extended beyond coaching as he created a baseball diamond in his backyard, where he could share his enthusiasm for the sport with family and friends.

Lenny is survived by his loving son, David C. Thomas and his wife, Katlyn; his step-children, Amy Clark and Jonathan Blauciak; his dear sister, Lisa Bentley and her husband, Mark; and his beloved niece and nephew, Delaney and Dane Bentley. He will also be missed by his former spouses, Elaine Thomas and Charlotte Thomas.
