Lynda L. Cordova, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the age of 74 surrounded by loved ones. Born October 18, 1949, to John and Bonnie Basil, in Ithaca, NY. Lynda was a devoted wife to her husband Daniel Cordova, residing in Ballinger, TX.
Known to her grandchildren as "Monor," she was always there for her family and is remembered for her incredible baking skills. Her home was often filled with the sweet aroma of freshly baked pies and bread. Her family will fondly remember her famous Pumpkin Pie (with the occasional eggshells) and her Pecan Pie (with the occasional nutshell).
An avid crocheter, Lynda created beautiful blankets and gifts, each stitch a testament to her love for her family. She found joy in fishing at her favorite spot (the Pond), often accompanied by her husband, children, and grandchildren, sharing stories and laughter as the sun sets over the water.
Lynda loved riding on the UTV with her husband through the countryside, enjoying the beauty nature had to offer. She had a special affinity for sunsets, often taking time to enjoy the vibrant colors of the sky while watching hummingbirds' flit around her garden. Her playful spirit extended to her love of video games, where she enjoyed bonding with her family.
Lynda loved to share her Texas home with her family, especially her niece, Brandi, they created unforgettable memories together. A few of their highlights were spending a thrilling day at the local rodeo, enjoying trips to Mexico, and making homemade tortillas with refried beans.
Lynda is survived by her husband Daniel Cordova, and her seven children: Shawn Nagel (Monique), Regina Nagel, Tara Molina (Robert), Carrie Flores (JJ), Marcie Hughes (Steven), Wade Cordova, and Zebrina Cordova. Siblings: Jim Basil (Diane), Cynda Farnham (Jim), Brynda Basil Beeman, and family.
Grandchildren: Angela Biedermann, Austin Alonzo, Brayden Cordova, Harmony Cordova, Hayley Cordova, Hunter Alonzo, Jocelynn Nagel, Kelcey Santillan, Kase Hughes, Lane Hughes, Lauren Molina, Mollie Flores, Monico Flores, Wyatt Hughes, Zerenity Manley, and Zeryah Ochoa.
Great-grandchildren: Ava, Ella, Isaac, and Kayce.
Lynda is preceded in death by her parents John Basil Jr. and Bonnie Frances Humphreys, in-laws Antonio and Dulce Cordova, brother Jack Basil, and grandson Ryan Nagel.
In honoring her wishes, there will be no formal service. The family invites friends to celebrate her life at 3pm with a ceremony at sunset, on October 19, 2024, at 202 CR 229 by sharing their favorite memories and enjoying her favorite dishes in her honor.
Lynda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Mi amor por siempre!
