Lynda Lewin Obituary

Visit the Smith Family Funeral Homes - Glenwood website to view the full obituary.

Lynda Elaine Lewin, 77, of Hot Springs, Arkansas left behind her ‘earth suit’ to go be with our Lord Jesus Christ on November 22, 2025. She was born on October 5, 1948 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Willard and Melba Wright.

Lynda was a devoted follower of Christ who lived for Jesus every minute of every day. Her faith shaped who she was, how she loved, and how she saw the world. Lynda was truly heavenly-minded. Her thoughts and conversations were centered around Christ. She was plugged into Trinity Church. She poured her heart into ministry and impacted countless lives. Lynda faithfully served as a 2nd grade teacher for 14 years, a role that perfectly reflected her joyful spirit and passion for children. She loved blowing bubbles, singing, playing her keyboard, and sharing the love of Jesus with children throughout the world. Lynda boldly shared the Gospel wherever God led her. She discipled young women, teaching them Godly values, and encouraging them to love their husbands while serving their families.

Lynda deeply loved her husband, Roger Lewin. Together they enjoyed a beautiful life of adventure, while sharing the gospel. Lynda loved her family, and to them she was lovingly known as ‘Grandy.’

She is survived by her husband, Roger; her sister, Sandy Hays (& Curt); her daughters, Merry Stachey and Misty Burroughs (& Aaron); and her grandchildren whom she adored Kaitlyn Dean (&Justin), Adam Burroughs (&Kelly), Andrew Burroughs, Chase Stachey (& Nicole), Blake Stachey (& Brittany), Logan Stachey (& Madison); and great-grandchildren Nathan and Paul Burroughs.

Lynda will be remembered for her joyful and encouraging spirit. She radiated the love of Christ and made every person she met feel special. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice” She suffered many trials and afflictions, yet she was always thankful for what she had and praised God in every circumstance. Her influence lives on through every life she touched, including her own family, and many of those she touched will never forget her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, or Wycliffe Bible Translators.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday November 29th at 10:30am at Trinity Church. 670 Panama St, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
