Lynda Speak

Lynda Speak, born October 1, 1936, in Gurdon, Arkansas, was an accomplished educator who earned advanced degrees and served in various teaching and administrative roles across multiple states before retiring. She was actively involved in her church, community organizations, and volunteer efforts, particularly supporting Alzheimer's causes and children's programs. Remembered for her dedication, humor, and caregiving, she was predeceased by her parents, Forrest and Ruth Overton of Tyler, a sister, Carole Overton, and an infant daughter, Debra Lynne Holder of Ft Worth, TX. She is survived by her only son, David Speak of Tyler, TX.
Visitation is on Thursday, October 16th from 5 to 7 pm at Stewart Family Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Cathedral in the Pines Friday, October 17th at 2 pm with Pastor Jason Driskell officiating.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Prayer Ministry of Green Acres Baptist Church, Christian Women's Job Corp, or the Alzheimer's Alliance of Smith County.
