Lynette Marie Freyberg, age 70, of Madison Lake, died Saturday, September 30, 2023, at her home.
A Service Celebrating Lynette’s Life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Friday at the church. Family interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mayo Cancer Research or Shriners Hospital for Children.
Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Lynette Marie was born April 25, 1953, to Gerald W. and Evelyn M. (Anderson) Hicks in Mankato. She married Steven Freyberg on May 31, 1975. Lynette worked at the family business, Freyberg Petroleum and also taught aerobics at the YMCA for over 30 years. Lynette loved spending time at the family cabin, going on rides in the fuel truck with Steven and Corey, driving her Corvette, family gatherings, being outdoors, playing games, working and taking care of others.
Lynette had a genuine love of people and met a lot of her friends at church, YMCA, and work. Her greatest joy came from spending time with Steve and attending as many of her kids and grandchildren’s activities as possible.
Her body succumb to cancer and heart disease after several years, but her mind never lost her love of family, friends, and God.
Lynette is survived by her husband, Steven; two sons, Corey (Shelly) Freyberg and Tyler (Katie) Freyberg; grandchildren, Danielle, Charlie, and Levi; brother, Jerry (Mary) Hicks; sister, Carlene (James) Bailey; nieces, nephews and extended family.
Lynette was preceded in death by her parents.
