In Loving Memory of Lynn Ellen Boyle
Lynn Ellen Boyle, born on November 10, 1943, left this world on January 14, 2024, surrounded by the love of her daughters, Allison Boyle and Meaghan (Boyle) Lynch, who are so grateful that they were holding her hands as she journeyed on. Her loving husband, James Boyle, preceded her in death, as did her siblings, Shirley Dunphy and Ken Geary. Lynn's legacy lives on through her two daughters and five adoring grandchildren - who knew her as "Goodie": Jacob, Liam, and Kate Hudson, and Luke and Jane Lynch.
Lynn dedicated over two decades of her life to shaping young minds as a passionate educator in the NYC Department of Education. Her impact on the lives of countless students was immeasurable, leaving an indelible mark of positivity and knowledge that will continue to ripple through generations. Her dedication to service continued after retirement in work mentoring young people in Florida and encouraging civic engagement with the League of Women Voters. Lynn found immense joy in her family, her beloved kitties, the joy of reading, cultivating vibrant gardens, and the magic of the theater. Known for her feisty and fiery spirit, Lynn was a force to be reckoned with. Her sense of humor brought laughter to those around her, while her love and warmth created a haven for her loved ones.
As Lynn peacefully rests, we celebrate a life well-lived-one rich with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to the betterment of others. Though physically no longer with us, the memories of Lynn's wit, love, and wisdom will forever stay in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. May Lynn Ellen Boyle find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the cherished memories that will endure for a lifetime. Lynn will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held the weekend of March 2nd, in hybrid fashion - in person in New York City and virtual. Her daughters will update once the plans are finalized. In lieu of flowers and with the last seven years of her life ever changed by Alzheimer's, If you feel so moved, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in Lynn's honor.
