Lynn Earl Child passed away December 23, 2023 in Layton, Utah at the age of 75.  He was born August 25, 1948 in Clinton, Utah to Eldon Earl and Leona Essie Butler Child.  He lived on Clinton, Clearfield and Layton, Utah.

 

He married Lynne Vonzee Dutson on August 2, 2010 in the Bountiful Temple.  Lynn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served a mission at the Kaysville Mill for years.

 

Lynn was a mountain man.  He enjoyed wood working, leather tooling and Dutch oven cooking. He even co-authored a Dutch oven cookbook.  He enjoyed camping, fly tying and fly fishing.

 

He is survived by his wife Lynne, brothers and sister; Linda West, Judy (Dexter) Rees, Clifford (Lerai) Child, Wayne Brown, Josephine (Leonard) Larsen, Susan Gale (Craig) Clendenan, his stepchildren; Camron Clay, Kristen Clay, Brandon (Jennifer) Clay, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Leona Child, sisters; Barbara Aubele and Lawanna Brown.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday December 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.

 

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery, Clinton, Utah.
