Marlene Joan Anderson Job Branham passed away on Thursday, Aug. 28, from causes related to Alzheimer's. She was born in Faulkton, South Dakota, on Aug. 10, 1939 to Ernest F. and Marie M. (Nagel) Anderson of Gettysburg, South Dakota. She attended Gettysburg High School and graduated in 1957. She married Vern Job in 1958, they were later divorced. They had two children, Kathy and Jeffrey. They traveled from 1958-1975 as a military family throughout the United States, Canada, France, and Taiwan. Marlene thoroughly enjoyed meeting people and learning their customs. The family settled in Layton in 1975.

Marlene worked at several military bases, and retired from Hill AFB as a contracting officer in 2004, after serving 33 years in civil service.

Marlene married James Dennis Branham in 1990. She enjoyed her cats, playing the piano, reading, working in the yard, and traveling with Dennis. She thoroughly enjoyed researching the Anderson and Nagel family histories.

Marlene had an unwavering faith, and never questioned that she would be with her Father and all her family again one day. She was raised Lutheran and attended and participated in church her entire life, most recently joining Clearfield Community Church.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Dennis; children Kathy Campbell (Alan) of Layton; and Jeffrey Job of Clearfield; additional children Renae Poole of West Haven; Wendy Taylor of Ogden; Kevin Branham of Ogden; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Waldemar and Howard, two sisters Helen and Linda, and children Aaron and Kerri Branham.

Marlene asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Lutheran Hour and the American Cancer Society in her name.

Marlene loved anything purple, please wear a little purple in her honor. We invite all those who were touched by Marlene's life to share their memories of her and upload photos to her memorial page.

A public viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary - Layton on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 9:00 am, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 am. A private family graveside service will take place at Ben Lomond Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
