Glen W. Larsen, age 87, slipped away peacefully from his earthly existence on July 10, 2025 in Kaysville, Utah, with his great-nephew, Ed Pehrson by his side.
Born in Ephraim, Utah on September 20, 1937 to Alma and Pearl Larsen, Glen was the youngest of six children. He was raised on the generational family farm and attended the Ephraim School as a boy. He served a proselyting mission for the LDS church in Sacramento, California from 1956-1958. Glen completed his higher education at Snow College and at Utah State University, ultimately graduating with a baccalaureate degree in early childhood education in 1962. He met his sweetheart, Sally Kendall while he was teaching in Vernal, Utah. They married on November 24, 1967 and were sealed in the Manti Temple on February 17, 1973. Glen served as a fifth-grade elementary teacher for Davis School District for 35 years, finishing his career at Crestview Elementary School in
Layton, Utah. He instilled the love of learning and mentored a great respect and passion for US history to countless young students during his tenure.
As the younger sibling of two WWII veterans, Glen was a patriotic soul. He was the consummate, Yankee Doodle Dandy! He loved his country and celebrated this through his vast array of flamboyant red, white, and blue regalia and fervent patriotic decor. He also cherished the Christmas season, celebrating the birth of his Savior with family and friends. Glen was consumed with flower gardening and his yard was an earthly oasis. He shared his prized irises for years on the graves of his ancestors. He also enjoyed cooking, experimenting with thousands of recipes in the kitchen throughout the years. Glen was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many callings and was dedicated to temple work throughout his life.
Glen leaves behind a multitude of family, friends, and his sweet, dog, Rusty. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sally, his parents, brothers, Duwain (Ruth), Devon, LeRell, Lyal (Ann), sister, Vera (Rex), nephews, Mark, Byron, and Wendell, nieces, Rebecca (Dave) and Rose (David), great nephews, Christian and Tyson, great niece, Christy Ann, many in-laws, and numerous beloved K9 companions of whom he and Sally loved and cared for as their children.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am MDT at Myers Mortuary in
