Lynn Goodwin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by North Dallas Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Mar. 7, 2025.
Lynn Phillips Goodwin, of Dallas, sadly passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 after a courageous battle with a long-time illness.
Throughout her fight, she faced everything head on and with grace and unwavering strength. In her final days she found comfort in her family who rallied to her side.
Before her passing, Lynn lived a rich, full life. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Bryan Adams High School in the class of 1971. She found success at MB Evaluations where she had a long and varied career. She juggled her professional life with motherhood, raising two daughters. Lynn was a hardworking and independent woman never afraid to speak her mind and tell you exactly how she felt.
When Lynn retired she spent her twilight years enjoying a relaxing, peaceful life with her husband and pets, including her dog, Mattie. She was a doting and loving "grandma," "mawmaw," "grammy," and "LaLa" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A generous spirit, she often hosted holiday gatherings and movie nights at her home. If you ever wanted company for a Mexican dinner you could always count on Lynn.
Her passing leaves a tremendous hole in the lives of her loved ones but they find peace in the many memories they share.
Lynn is survived by daughters, Christie Lynn Hernandez and husband, Will Castillo; Michelle Renee Harmon and husband, Eric; son, Brent Miller and wife Chique; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Nicholson; Christopher Todd Gelina, Jr., and wife, Elise Gelina; Justin Randall Gelina; Ellen Miller and Adam Miller; great-grandchildren, Jackson Pruit; Evalyn Margaret and Madisyn Lynn; brother, Mark Randall Phillips, and wife Beverly; sister Ann Phillips; nephews Randy Phillips and wife, Myrna and Seth Phillips; niece Jennifer Connally, and husband, Josh; and several other nieces and nephews; her dear best friends Jackie, Susan, Suzanne and many, many more; preceded in death by her husband, Charles Goodwin and parents, Norman G. And Billie Margaret Phillips.

Christie, Renea and Brent
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Lynn was an amazing person who would do anything for you if she was able. I'll be thinking of all of you on Sunday as you remember her and celebrate the amazing person she was. I'm so sorry she is no longer on this side of heaven, but I'm so happy for her that she is whole again and drinking a beer with Billie. They'll both be toasting all of you on Sunday with those big smiles of theirs. Hugs!

Our family sends deepest sympathies and prayers to Lynn´s family. My memories of my cousin Lynn are too many to tell. But we grew up together sharing sleepovers in summers during our childhood, shared secrets of our love life as teenagers, and shared many good visits during family get togethers, as well as our health struggles. Although our visits were few these past couple of years, she will be missed by our family.

Special fond memories of spending fun times with Lynn, Ann and Mark at their house. Fun riding bikes and playing at Harry Stone Rec. Lynn and I always remained friends as we finished up school. I consider her a true friendship that remains over the years. May God bring family and friends comfort. Virginia Nye Sunderlin
