Lynn Ann Campbell Harshbarger, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 1, 2025. Lynn was born in 1946 to Robert and Claire Campbell and spent her childhood in Avon-by-the-Sea, New Jersey, where she spent many happy summers enjoying swimming at the beach or off the dock at Campbell's Boat Yard in Neptune City. After graduating from Asbury Park High School, Lynn became a registered nurse, enjoying the hustle and bustle of emergency room nursing.

In 1975, Lynn married her partner and best friend, Dan Harshbarger and with her two children, Mark and Karole Langlois, moved first to North Carolina and then to Maryland, where they spent many happy years together. Eventually, Lynn transitioned from active nursing to the insurance industry where she became an expert in Medicare and Medicaid insurance, helping to sort out complicated insurance claims and investigate fraud.

In 2012, Lynn and Dan moved to Florida where they developed a large group of friends in their South Shores community.

Lynn loved to have a good time and liked to be the life of the party. She had a razor-sharp wit, and often had everyone laughing. Lynn had a love/hate relationship with her Washington football team. On Sundays in the fall you could find her and Dan glued to the TV and yelling "advice" to the players through good seasons and bad. She enjoyed traveling, especially on Royal Caribbean, where she and Dan traveled extensively, visiting Alaska, Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean. She was a pro shopper, especially for clothes and shoes, and loved to wear bright colors to match her personality. Many a family joke was made about her Etienne Aigner shoes, and assortment of hand bags, which she took in stride.

Most of all, Lynn adored her family. Her husband, Dan, was her safe harbor and her children, Karole and Mark, were the pride of her life. She loved talking about their talents and accomplishments and when she did, you could feel how proud she was of them.

Lynn is survived by her daughter, Karole Langlois of San Francisco, CA and her sister, Noreen Campbell of Newark, Delaware. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Harshbarger, her son, Mark Langlois and her parents, Robert and Claire Campbell.

A private memorial will be held later this year in New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online by clicking here.
