Lynn Martin Jarrett, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home on September 9, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.
Born on March 12, 1951, in Johnson City, Tennessee, Lynn lived a life marked by deep faith, intellectual curiosity, and a profound love for both people and nature. He attended Georgia Tech and Johnson Bible College, where he cultivated the skills and passion that would shape his life's work. A talented mechanical engineer and gifted Bible teacher, Lynn combined practical knowledge with spiritual wisdom throughout his life.
Lynn also served as a Chaplain with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, where his compassion and faith were a source of strength and comfort to many during times of crisis.
Outside of his professional and spiritual callings, Lynn enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and hiking in national parks. He was especially known among his family and friends for his legendary dad jokes, always ready with a laugh and a smile.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Fred and Lois Jarrett, and his sister, Freda.
Lynn leaves behind a legacy of love and faith in the lives of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Delores Womack Jarrett, with whom he shared the special sentiment: "We aren't perfect, but we are perfect for each other."
He also leaves behind his children: Jennifer (William) Wood, Matthew (Courtney) Jarrett, Andrew Jarrett, Sara (Jonathan) Star, David Seymore, and Kristy (Steve) Spence; his siblings: Karen (Hal) Taylor, David (Della) Jarrett, and Amy Jarrett; and brother-in-law, Joseph Jones.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Ethan Seymore, Justin Burrell, Katelyn Seymore, Josh Burrell, Madison Wood, Kathleen Wood, Gensie Star, Frank Jarrett, Bailey Wood, Vera Jarrett, Avery Wood, Evelyn Star, and Ophelia Watkins.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lynn's life at a visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM on Friday , September 12, 2025, at Calvary Chapel (The Chapel Cleveland), 2412 Wolfe Dr. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. Pastor Richie Johnson will officiate.
Lynn's legacy of love, laughter, faith, and service will live on in all who knew him.
