Lynn Keith Kennedy was born December 3, 1942 in Sargent, Nebraska to Kenneth Keith Kennedy and Frieda Marie Leibert Kennedy. He spent his first seven years with his family on a farm near Comstock, Nebraska then moved to Sargent where he attended school and graduated in 1960. As a teen he started working as a linotype operator the Sargent Leader. He was always employed in printing until he retired.

Lynn was drafted into the Army in 1964 and served 18 months of that time in Italy.

While working at the Gordon Journal in Nebraska, he met the love of his life, Barbara Jean Harris and they married in 1968, and celebrated 57 years together.

They were blessed with two children David Keith and his wife Trina Kennedy and Denise Adel and her husband Kevin Bowman plus three grandchildren, Tyler Keith Kennedy, Tanner Jess Kennedy, and Hailey JoLynn Bowman.

Preceding him in death were his parents, oldest sister Beverly Ann Huxoll and her husband Charles, granddaughter Emma Jo Kennedy, brother-in-law Dennis Krikac.

Surviving are sisters Sharon Lee Krikac, Patricia Jo and her husband Kenneth Johnson and brother Bruce Alan and his wife Kay Kennedy.

Lynn died in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 82 on November 16, 2025.

Lynn was a quiet man who loved God, family, his country and Nebraska Husker football and volleyball.

Services will be held at Viegut Funeral on November 24, 2025 at 11:00am with a reception to follow at Viegut Reception Center and burial will be in Loveland Burial Park.

Lynn was of the generation whose parents told him "We don't talk about religion or politics", so he never learned to express his feeling about God until later and then many times he kept that to himself. Once he was more active in church going it became easier to say prayers at meals and prayers to God in private. But he always loved God and tried to live his life to show that.

Lynn was a hard worker and gave his all to whatever job he was assigned. His first job while in high school kept him from being able to play sports because there wasn't enough time and he needed the job to have spending money and also to help his parents pay bills and buy groceries.

Lynn liked to fish and spent many hours at Flatiron Lake. His biggest fish, however, was a catfish he reeled in while visiting friends in the Ozarks.

Lynn also liked to bowl, play cards and watch football on TV or have a jigsaw puzzle on the table in the process of being put together.

Barb and Lynn went on cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean and also flew to Hawaii three times. One cruise he swam with the stingrays. In Hawaii he enjoyed being in the ocean. Barb and Lynn traveled with his sister, Patty and her husband Ken. One of those times while in the ocean his sister lost her sunglasses. A couple of years later Lynn snuck some sunglasses into the water, came out holding them up and saying "Patty, I found your sunglasses."

Lynn love to watch and support his son in any sport he was in. Always so proud of David's achievements.

Denise was special to him and they had a close bond. She was always Lynn's shoulder to lean on.

He loved to tease and laugh with others especially Barb. They had a special love for each other. You rarely saw one without the other and they were always holding hands.
