Lynn Marie Ley, 62 of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital of Madison, with her soulmate Mark comforting her at her bedside.
Lynn was born December 9, 1961, in Oconomowoc, WI, the daughter of William and Edith (Nelson) Ley. She grew up in Rome, attended and graduated from Jefferson High School. After her graduation, Lynn was employed by her brother-in-law, Dale P. Falk, DDS, as a receptionist, a job she kept until his retirement in 2014. Lynn then became cashier at Walmart, she enjoyed visiting with customers and enjoying all the local gossip.
While out with friends in the fall of 2000, Lynn met her partner, Mark Musgrove. Although she held off on giving Mark her phone number for a number of weeks, the couple began a more than 23-year relationship, getting engaged on Christmas of 2003. Lynn and Mark became each others pillar. The couple enjoyed art fairs, always searching to add to their collection of pottery, unique blown glass and their array of Bald Eagle sculptures and paintings. They often loaded up their pups to explore Amish communities together. They were avid motorcyclists with the highlight of their journeys touring the Rocky and Smoky Mountains. Lynn had a true green thumb, her collection of houseplants were second to none, a few she bragged about nurturing for over 25 years. She took solace and pride in her numerous outdoor flower gardens, maintaining them impeccably until her health prevented her from doing so. Lynn was also relentless in her Harley-Davidson memorabilia collection, some would say she built a small museum! Lynn loved all animals, especially their pups, Simon, Sheldon, Lacy, and her shadow – Lucy were cherished by Lynn. Lynn had a tough exterior, that if you ever crossed her you wouldn't soon forget it! But deep down Lynn had a heart of gold, always wanting to shower love and gifts to those she cared about. She held fond memories of years gone by taking her mother Edith to visit their special friends Kate, Jill and Jeff Baker of North Prairie, for weekend fun days! Lynn always looked forward to the sleepovers of their nieces and nephews so she could spoil them with candy and gifts. She enjoyed a lowkey lifestyle, out of the limelight and surrounded by the people she loved. Lynn dedicated her life to the service of her mother until her death in 2018. And always made sure her uncle, Walter Nelson, was well cared for up until his passing in 2005. Lynn Marie Ley was a sparkling jewel to those that knew her. She touched many people's hearts and will forever be cherished and missed.
She is survived by: her fiancé Mark Musgrove of Jefferson, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, sister Sandra Falk, and other family members.
Mark and Lynn would like to express their great gratitude to all of Lynn's Doctors, specialists and nurses throughout her years, especially the med flight physicians that took such loving care of her on her last journey!
Per Lynn's request no formal services will be held.
To help keep Lynn's giving and loving spirit alive, Donations in Lynn's memory would be welcome to Hoo's Woods Raptor Center (PO Box 21, Milton, WI 53563)
