Lynn Richard Loken, 84, of
Loveland, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home the morning of August 17, 2025.
He was born on May 23, 1941, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Floyd and Marion Loken. Lynn graduated from Eau Claire High School and went on to earn a degree in Agronomy and Animal Science from Iowa State University. His love of agriculture and innovation guided his professional life and personal passions.
Initially Lynn ran his family farm in WI and then started his own family. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Lynn worked in a variety of agricultural science and seed industry roles, where he built lifelong relationships with dairy farmers, ranchers and researchers. He also managed farmland, recruited for agricultural businesses, and explored real estate ventures. A true entrepreneur, Lynn later served as President of Activon Inc., where his vision and leadership reflected his drive to create opportunities and bring new products to market in both Dairy and Agriscience industries.
Lynn married his Rodeo Queen, Kathy (Olbert) Loken, in 1968, and together they shared 57 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and travels around the world. They enjoyed a full life Moving to Loveland Colorado in 1978 and spent many recent winters in Green Valley, Arizona, where they made additional friendships and memories.
He was a devoted father to Karla Loken (Martin Bohm) of Zionsville, IN, and a proud grandfather to Nicholas, Jackson, and Payton Bohm. He was a cherished brother to Kay Page Tarr, Brother in Law to Steven Olbert (Pat) and sister in law Patty Olbert Guist. Lynn was also a beloved uncle to and uncle to nephews Jason Page(Carrie) and Zane(Maria) Page,Brock (Pam)Olbert Boyd (Dana)Olbert & Stacy(Frank) Savarino and Kristyn Worzella, and great-uncle to many more.
Lynn found joy in the outdoors and was happiest when fishing, boating, and spending time at the Red Feather Lakes cabin, which was his special place. He also loved a good puzzle and the quiet moments it brought, and he never gave up on cheering for the Green Bay Packers or the Denver Broncos.
He built lifelong friendships in Loveland and was a proud community advocate, as well as a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on many leadership committees over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Marion Loken, and his daughter, Laura Lynn Loken, who passed away in 1988 at the age of 16 from meningitis.
He will be remembered for his unwavering optimism, inventive spirit, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Friends and family knew him as someone who never stopped dreaming, tinkering, and striving to make a difference.
Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in
Loveland, Colorado, on Saturday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m. 815 E 16th Street Loveland CO
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Meningitis or to the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado generations fund.
Lynn's life was a testament to hard work, family devotion, faith, and the joy of pursuing one's passions. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
