Lynn Mickovic Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 19, 2025.
Lynn Kirchheimer Mickovic

October 3, 1940 – August 10, 2025

Lynn was born in Chicago, Illinois to Dorothy Ann Kirchheimer (née Greener) and Herbert William Kirchheimer and is sister to Nancy Kirchheimer Hollins. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert (Bob).

Lynn attended Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois and received a Bachelor's Degree in Art Educaton. After college she taught art at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois.

Lynn's love for her family was evident in everything she did. An avid horsewoman in Chicago, she taught horseback riding and had her own horse and it was here that she met her first husband, James R Bernhard. They had 2 children Elizabeth A. Vecchio (John née: Bernhard) and William J. Bernhard (Iris Crawford), and they moved to Moreland Hills, Ohio.

Lynn met Robert A. Mickovic in the mid 1970s and they married in 1977 and were married 48 years until her death. Robert has 4 sons: Rob Mickovic (Amy), Chris Mickovic (Christine), Paul Mickovic (Debbie), and Keith Mickovic (Katie). Together, forming a family of eight.

Lynn has 12 grandchildren: Erin Andro-Masetta (Andrew), Ryan Andro, Heather Andro, Mitchell Mickovic (Chrissy), Michael Mickovic (Hannah), Matthew Mickovic (Caylie) Kristin Mickovic, Jack Mickovic, Nathan Turner, Tyler Kawa, Logan Kawa.

Our GG and Grandmalynn retired from Brady Middle School Orange, Ohio where she worked as a media assistant, teacher. Lynn then kept herself busy entertaining friends and with golfing, playing her guitar, art projects, craft shows, and won awards for photography - a true artist. When Bob retired, they decided to move to The Villages, FL where they enjoyed golf, Lynn's hole in one, plus live music every night, and meeting retired neighbors from all over the world.

She lived a whole and happy life, filled with love for her family and friends. She treasured time with her children and grandchildren. She passed surrounded by their love. Because she lived, there will still be joy for us as well.
