Mrs. Lynn Harrell Ramsey, 69, of Drewryville, went to her eternal heavenly home Saturday, February 3, 2024 surrounded by her family in her home. She was daughter of the late Lester and Irene Harrell of Jarratt.
Lynn was a nurse and worked at the Emporia Hospital and retired from the Department of Corrections. Her favorite title was "Nana" as she was called by her grandchildren. She was a pillar in the Drewryville community and was a member of the Drewryville Woman's Club for over 40 years and a member of the Drewryville Ruritan Club. She was very positive and strong in her faith even through several bouts of cancer and physical aliments making her an inspiration to many. Her food was enjoyed by family and friends and her cookbook "Lynn's Favorite Country Recipes" will be used for years to come. She took great pleasure in her flowers, birds, and hummingbirds.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Travis Ramsey; son, Jason Ramsey (Betty); daughter, Amy Hinson (Jonathan); grandchildren, Andrew Hinson and Natalie Hinson; and sister, Jo Ann Harrell.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia with Pastor Tom Wallace and Pastor Curt Faison officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at the Drewryville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Drewryville Volunteer Fire Department Building Fund, P.O. Box 125, Drewryville, VA 23844.
