Lynn was born on March 6, 1941 to John W. and Marcella (Molter) Baker. She lost her mother when she was three years old and was raised by her "Daddy" and her Irish Catholic grandmother.
On December 16, 1972 she was united in marriage to Larry L. Reimnitz in
Huron, SD. Lynn was a lifetime member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and an active member of LWML.
She worked at Sunquest Village as a housekeeper before her retirement. She took her job very seriously, but more than anything she loved putting a smile on residents' faces every day. That same enthusiasm continued as an assistant cook at the Huron Senior Center. She and Larry continued their commitment to elder care and volunteered on a regular basis delivering meals on wheels. Great-grandson, Triston, often joined them continuing that tradition of putting a smile on faces of people they delivered to.
Lynn spent much of her spare time attending Larry's softball games, dart and tennis tournaments and she did not hold back bragging on how good he was. An avid reader, she often could be seen reading while pretending to watch Larry's sports activities, but she was Larry's biggest supporter. She also looked forward to her regular meetings with her friends at McDonalds and cherished their stories and laughter.
Along with her husband of 53 years, she was blessed to have shared her life with her children Wendy (David) Martinez of Windsor, CO, Kelley Wolf of Huron, Blaine (Jolene) Smith of Sioux Falls and Liz Smith of Huron; stepdaughters Ann (Jason Bednarz) Nelson of Fargo, ND and Judy Davis of Pierre, SD.
Over the years, she cherished the time spent with her with ten grandchildren: Nathan Martinez, Jason Loyd, Danyelle Smith, Jenny McMillen, Alexis Smith, Brittany Scherr, Cassidy Nelson, Austin Nelson, Skyler Metzger and Spencer Davis. She was better known as "GG" to her eight great-grandchildren: Triston Loyd, Mari Smith, Jordan and Gracelynn Loyd, Palmer McMillen, Macie Martinez, Jackson and Bennett Scherr. She is also cherished by Kent Speirs, who she loved and treated as one of her own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elaine; husband, Joe Hofer; nephews, Shane and Jimmy Hofer, and Jimmy's son Basil.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to the family for disbursement to the charities and organizations that were important to Lynn.
