Lynn R. Wildhaber

Lynn R. Wildhaber, age 85 of Highland, IL, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born on Thursday, December 7, 1939, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Harold Geppert. On Friday, August 21, 1959, she married her true love, Kenneth Wildhaber, at the E & R Church, Highland, IL, who passed away on May 24, 2025. They were married for over 65 years. Lynn was born and raised in Highland. Lynn graduated from Highland High School in 1957, attended Illinois State University at Normal, briefly worked at a bank in St. Louis before devoting herself to caring for family at home. Lifelong resident of Highland, Lynn dearly loved her hometown and its history, inspiring elements of her daughter's Highland Sesquicentennial Logo in 1987. She kept score at HJHS (Junior High) basketball games that her husband coached, enjoyed donating her time by helping with projects at Highland Elementary School, was a Brownie troop leader, delivered Meals On Wheels, ran the Highland ADA Bike-A-Thon at Silver Lake, was active in HHS Band Parents, supported local Summer Theater, the Louis Latzer Library book sales (with longtime friend, Cerridgwyn Pyrs), enjoyed eagle watching, zoo trips, supporting wolf conservation and viewing local wildlife and flowers. She received a Community Policing Award in 2002 (with Kate Edwards). Lynn was always fashionable, creative and stylish in all aspects of her life. She shared her interests in science, music (classical to Hard Rock), art and true crime with her daughter, Tanis Wildhaber Pfoser. Survivors include: Daughter - Tanis (Kenneth) Wildhaber Pfoser, Lombard, IL She was preceded in death by: Husband - Kenneth Wildhaber (died 5/24/2025) Father - Harold Jacob Geppert Grandparents – Jacob Geppert and Ida (nee Grossenbacher) Geppert Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
