Lynne Deborah Bloom, of Abington, PA passed on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Lynne was born on May 22, 1934. She graduated from Olney High School and Drexel University, of which Lynne became a devoted alumnus. Following her education, Lynne worked many years as an impassioned teacher of Home Economics to middle school students in the Philadelphia school system. Over the years, Lynne was an active and longtime member of Alumni Advocates of the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, Drexel Alumni Board of Governors (Director 2001 - 2013), Harriet E. Worrell Award Society (Award recipient), and American Association of University Women. Lynne spent a lifetime creating and cultivating relationships, helping others and learning.
Lynne was preceded by her parents, George and Rose Ashe; loving husband Barnett W. Bloom; and loving partner Eugene D. Silver. She was a loving and devoted mother to; Lawrence Bloom (Diana), Carl Bloom, (Elizabeth), Jonathan Silver, and Rebecca Lenick (Barry). Lynne was a proud, passionate and loving grandmother of Brooke Bloom; Kyra Bloom (Michael Toone); Courtney Bloom; and Luke Bloom. Family and friends are invited to her Graveside Service on Sunday October 15, 2023 at 2:00pm Shalom Memorial Park, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Shiva to be observed Sunday evening.
