Lynne Bursenos

Lynne Bursenos, 79, of Herndon, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at Texas Health Hospital in Frisco, Texas, with her loving family at her side.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lynne lived a life defined by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and resilience. She was a strong and stoic woman who would do anything for her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her beloved grandsons. Lynne also found happiness in simple pleasures-spending time at the beach, reading, and playing poker with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbey and Rae Tearle; her sister, Geraldine Shemesh (2002); her husband, Peter James Bursenos (2011); and her son, Demitrios Bursenos (2001).

Lynne is survived by her daughters, Alexis Bursenos Seck (Bryan James Seck) and Jennifer Bursenos Sachs; her grandsons, Peter Alexander Seck and Bryan James Seck; and her cherished nephews and niece.

Lynne spent the last five years of her life in Texas with her daughter, where she continued to be surrounded by love and family. She passed peacefully with her loved ones at her side.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on March 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, Virginia. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia.

Lynne will be remembered for her strength, loyalty, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be greatly missed and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
