Lynne Kilker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sellars Funeral Home - Lebanon on Dec. 20, 2025.
Lynne S. Kilker, age 88, of Lebanon, TN, finished her race on December 15, 2025. A Memorial Service for Lynne will be held at New Freedom Apostolic Church (404 N. Castle Heights Ave, Suite G), in Lebanon TN at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026 with Pastor Marc Wood officiating. A Memorial Service will be held in Oregon, IL on a TBD date in the spring of 2026.
Lynne Kilker was born in Rochelle, IL to Kathryn Hardesty Chaffee and Clifford Chaffee. Lynne was proud of her Irish heritage. Lynne was the City of Oregan Economic Development Director and past Civil Air Patrol Service member. She served as Director of Ogle County Economic Development. She started her own business aptly named "Lynne's Business". Her seriousness was funny. Lynne made good Grandma Katie Salad. Lynne loved her coffee black and it had to be hot. A pot of Folgers was always on in her home. She was a proud member of the Republican Party and always encouraged others to participate in the civic process. Lynne was very political but not at all politically correct.
Lynne's daughter, Katie, was her world. She spent her later years ensuring Katie would be well cared for after she was gone. Lynne loved her church and her church family, but most of all Lynne loved the Lord. Watching Katie as she prayed in church with a peace that passes understanding brought joy to Lynne's heart. Lynne was loved by her church family. "Her Boys" at Shady Acres had a special place in her heart also. You wouldn't know Lynne long without her offering to be your "YOM", Your Other Mom. She was loved by many in her life and she will be greatly missed.
Lynne is preceded in death by first husband David L. Seger of Rockford IL, second husband Richard D. Kilker of Freeport IL, parents Kathryn and Clifford Chaffee, and sister Susan. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn L. "Katie" Seger, of Lebanon, TN, as well as special friends Marty Typer of Stillman Valley, IL and Tom Suits of Polo, IL.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her daughter Katie at Lynne's memorial service.
