With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lynnette Dianne Peterson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her residence in Covington, GA. Born on a crisp winter day in Eatonton, GA, on December 12, 1946, Lynnette lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose for 79 wonderful years.
Lynnette's journey was deeply rooted in her Georgian heritage. Her gentleness and strength, much like the landscapes of her birthplace, resonated through her close-knit family and community. Whether it was her warm smile, her unwavering spirit, or her boundless compassion, Lynnette touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and grace.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a public visitation on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home, Scottdale Location, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Lynnette's remarkable life will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home, Flat Shoals Location in Decatur, GA.
The family is sincerely grateful for the support and arrangements provided by the dedicated team at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory-Avondale. Lynnette's memory will be cherished by all those who knew and loved her. Her absence is keenly felt, but her spirit lives on through the memories shared by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lynnette's honor to a charitable organization of one's choice. May we find solace in honoring her through acts of kindness and love, traits she so generously shared with the world.
