M. Hovenga Obituary
Lois was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother and a wonderful daughter. She treasured time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She embraced opportunities for special outings with her family. She dedicated the last 6 years working for Mom's Meals in Ankeny. Lois was also an avid collector of bears.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Brian; children Matthew (Brianna) Hovenga and Emily (Chris) Goode; grandchildren Ash and Lucas; mother Arlene Yokiel and mother-in-law LaVonne Hovenga; sisters Myrna (Greg) Townsend and Sherry (Jim) Johnson; brother-in-law Duane (Teresa) Hovenga; and sister-in-law Diane Hovenga; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Phillip Roberts; grandparents Francis and Alice Lewis; father-in-law Donald Hovenga; brother-in-law Henry Hovenga; and niece Crystal Strovers.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 am with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 am at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale.
