MARY PATRICIA “PAT” (SHIELDS) STACK
It is with heavy hearts that we announce our dear mother’s passing on December 30th, 2023, at the age of 94. Our mom passed peacefully at her home in Greensburg, PA, surrounded by her children. Pat was the beloved wife of the late Phillip James Stack, loving mother of the late James and Sandra Stack. Patsy was the last surviving sibling of Neil Shields, Darby Shields, Katherine Amann (Tom), Margaret Amrhein (Bill) and Hugh Shields.
She is survived by her children Gary Stack of Greensburg, PA, Steve Stack (Sally) of Huntington Beach, CA, Laurie Stack MacLeod of Castle Rock, CO, and Ed Stack of Greensburg, PA; loving Grandmother of Connor MacLeod, Brendan MacLeod (Simone), Ryan Stack, and Taylor Stack; her sister-n-laws Helen Shields and Peggy Shields and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 1st, 1929. Patsy was the daughter of the late Darby and Margaret Shields who were born in Ireland. She and her siblings were very proud of their Irish heritage visiting there often.
Pat was a devout Catholic and member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. She cared deeply about her family and close friends. Our mother was a very kind, selfless and genuine person with a perfect amount of sass, but always the classiest lady. An angel on earth and as sweet as they come. She always cared about how everyone was doing, even during her last days. Mom had the most beautiful, contagious smile. A lovely, gentle lady who will be greatly missed.
