Mabel Adkins Clark was born on Saturday, July 22, 1944, at 4:00 am to Dennis W. Adkins and Clyde Burch Adkins in Cadwell, Georgia. She grew up as the baby daughter of a sharecropper, picking cotton and going to school. She attended Mary Fleming Elementary School and Mary Fleming High School where she was a member of the Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega Honorary Society, and she graduated with honors in 1962.

She was raised in New Providence Baptist Church alongside her family, and it would be the place where she would meet the love of her life, Willie Dolphus Clark and they were joined in holy matrimony in 1961 in Telfair County, Georgia. They would shortly thereafter move to Rochester, New York, and raise a family. In Rochester, Mabel Clark was a long-standing member of Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Rochester with her husband where they were ordained in the Deacon/Deaconess ministry of the church and served with diligence and integrity. In 1998, she would fondly return with her husband to their home in Dublin, Georgia, and settle in East Dublin. In doing so, she and her husband would also with great joy return to their home church, New Providence, and happily live out their lives continuing to serve in the Deaconry under the anointed leadership of Reverend Edward Northcutt.

Mabel passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Clyde, her husband, Willie, three of her children, Gregory, Jeffrey and Gerald, Gerald's wife, Lisa, and her daughter Chrys's husband, Alphanso; and by her brothers, Gerald (wife - Rosita), Dennis, Ft. Wayne, Count, and sisters, Helen (husband - Eugene) and Cora (husband - Lee Thomas Sr.).

She is survived by her daughter, Chrys Clark Dickens, her children Jazmyn Dickens, Mylze Dickens, Micahl Dickens (wife - Gina) great-grandchild, Zoya, and her step-daughter Rosa (husband - David), grandson, Kory (wife - Myriam), great-grandchildren, Noah, Nathan, and Micah, Mabel's son's (Gerald) children, Nikki Clark, Gerald Clark Jr., Jeffrey Clark, Robert Clark and Keith Clark, Christofer Young, great grand-children, Kiana, Korey and Kaleb, Genesis, Ka'mayiah, Gerald III, other great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Moore, Kamari Scott, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
